Dr. Thomas Hunt is an associate professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas.
Dr. Hunt is medical director of the Desert Regional Center, a state-run campus for developmentally disabled patients, and Infinity Hospice.
He has served as chair of the family medicine department, program director and assistant program director.
He was the recipient of the EW Richardson Excellence in Teaching Award at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 2004 and named by his peers 2005 Nevada Family Physician of the Year.
Dr. Hunt is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Association of the Departments of Family Medicine, and has been a board member of the Nevada Academy of Family Physicians for several years.
Dr. Hunt was associate professor with the rural education department of the Department of Family Medicine at the State University of New York Health Sciences Center in Syracuse.
