Following his residency, Dr. John Varras joined the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 2000. He is board-certified in internal medicine and cares for hospitalized patients at University Medical Center in Las Vegas and outpatients at the school's Patient Care Center.
Dr. Varras' clinical interests include management and prevention of heart disease and diabetes. Dr. Varras is specifically interested in managing patients with difficult to control blood pressure and heart failure. He is also interested in primary and secondary prevention of heart disease by risk factor modification, especially lipid management.
He provides care for diabetic patients and is interested in all aspects of this care including preventing and treating complications.
Dr. Varras is assistant professor of medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas.
Dr. Varras was born and raised in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
